A little fun we had over the holidays in preparation for our You Tube series.
You know Derek, our fearless head mead maker. Well, over the holidays, he had some fun with a recipe for Irish Cream, which you can now make at home:
Irish Cream Recipe
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
1 cup of whiskey or spiced rum
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
Whisk together the whipping cream with the condensed milk until fully mixed. The mixture should be pretty runny at this point. Add in the whiskey or rum and stir. Add the final ingredient, cocoa, and mix well. We’re using dark chocolate cocoa, but any kind you like will work.
Now’s the time to get creative, if you feel moved! You can start to add any other ingredients you’d like to try out. We’ve tried and liked a pinch of espresso powder.
This is how we feel about creating new flavors for our meads, too. It’s one of the best parts of mead making, so go ahead and bring that same fun to making any drink!
